SLL is enhancing its global competitiveness by gaining fan support through diverse content including entertainment and films. It is not just about a single successful IP, but is evolving into seasons or franchises, and based on this, it is establishing a long-term growth framework that links to commerce to boost viewer engagement.

In the entertainment industry, SLL label Studio Slam’s ‘Crime Scene Series’ serves as a notable example. The original role-playing mystery entertainment, ‘Crime Scene’, gained attention in Korea via ‘Crime Scene Returns’, which made a comeback after seven years. Subsequently, ‘Crime Scene Zero’, set to debut worldwide on Netflix on September 23, is aiming to attract international fans beyond South Korea. Thus, the ‘Crime Scene Series’ keeps evolving with ‘Returns’ and ‘Zero’, solidifying its status as an ongoing seasonal IP.

Studio Slam’s other entertainment program, ‘Black and White Chef: Cooking Class Wars Season 1,’ made history by becoming the first Korean entertainment show to rank at the top of Netflix’s Global Top 10 non-English TV category for three straight weeks. Building on the success of the previous season, it aims to expand its international fanbase with Season 2, set for release in the second half of this year. Additionally, ‘Just Make-up,’ the first large-scale survival entertainment show focused on K-beauty, is scheduled to debut on Coupang Play on October 3 and Amazon Prime Video on October 10, generating excitement among both domestic and international K-beauty fans.

Within the film category, the ‘Criminal City’ series has evolved into a lasting franchise. The total number of viewers across the series has surpassed 40 million, with ‘The Outlaws 4’ achieving over 11.13 million views within 36 days of its debut, setting a record for the fastest box office performance in the series. ‘The Outlaws’ represents a triumph for the Korean action film franchise, and it aims to keep releasing new seasons while expanding its fan base.

In the music sector, the idol group ‘Close Your Eyes’ is gaining significant attention. Soon after making their debut, they topped the music charts. Their second mini-album, ‘Snowy Summer’, which came out on July 9, sold over 200,000 copies on the day of its release and managed to win three music show awards. Furthermore, the group is expanding its interaction with fans through domestic and international fan meetings, pop-up shops, and merchandise, and intends to build a foundation for long-term growth through continued musical activities in the future.

An SLL representative stated, “SLL is working on a wide range of content including entertainment, dramas, films, and music to transform viewers into fans.” We aim to broaden our revenue streams and establish a sustainable IP lifecycle by growing our domestic and international fanbase.
