Renowned Nollywood actor Olusegun Akinremi, widely recognized as Chief Kanran, is set to be laid to rest at Beckley Estate, Abule Egba, Lagos State, on September 12, 2025.

The vigil will take place on September 11, and the cultural evening is planned for the same day at 8 pm.
The funeral service is set for Friday, September 12, at Beckley Estate, Abule Egba, Lagos.

Chief Kanran diedat the age of 70 on August 15th.
The passing of the individual was revealed by film executive and producer Seun Oloketuyi through an Instagram update on Friday.
He stated, “Renowned actor Segun Remi, widely recognized as Chief Kanran, passed away on Friday morning. More information to follow.”
Chief Kanran was a well-known figure in the Yoruba film industry, famous for his unique approach, sophisticated grace, passion for opulence, witty personality, and powerful acting that brought stage productions and films to life over many years.
