Aabeer Gulaal has at last launched worldwide following months of doubt and a prolonged anticipation from viewers.
A cross-border collaboration featuring Pakistan’s Fawad Khan and India’s Vaani Kapoor was launched globally on September 12, 2025.
It was first shown in theaters throughout the UAE, Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom.
The launch is a joint effort between the two neighboring countries, but supporters in Pakistan and India are still unable to view the movie.
Initially, Aabeer Gulaal was set to premiere in May 2025 after the teaser release in April, but political issues caused the schedule to change.
Marketing material, including the preview, was temporarily removed from prominent websites such as YouTube.
In August 2025, the creators reignited the excitement by releasing the trailer again with an announced new global release date. Although there were expectations of a theatrical release in South Asia, there are currently no cinema schedules in Pakistan and India.
The movie also signifies Fawad Khan’s highly anticipated comeback to Bollywood following almost ten years, with his previous role in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil from 2016.
The storyline centers on Aabeer Singh, a chef operating a restaurant in London, who goes to Jaipur for a cooking competition.
There, he meets Gulaal Bajaj in an unexpected encounter that quickly becomes intense.
When Gulaal triumphs in the contest, she encounters opposition from her family regarding her departure from India, but eventually travels to London for the chance.
Nevertheless, her arrival triggers a series of funny errors, making things more complicated for Aabeer and prompting him to rethink her position in his restaurant.
Critics have characterized the narrative as cheerful and captivating. The conversations have been commended for their smooth progression and similarity to regular discussions.
The film’s direction by Aarti S Bagdi has been praised for its focus on character-based comedy, heartfelt emotions, and family-oriented narratives that avoid stereotypes.
Viewers have also pointed out that the movie maintains an Indian cultural flavor even though it is set in a global context, enhanced by musical numbers integrated into the story.
Featuring powerful acting from the main actors, lively dialogue, and appealing visuals, Aabeer Gulaal is poised to capture international audiences.
