The Independent National Electoral Commission has stated that 509,929 Nigerians are eligible and have registered in the current Continuous Voter Registration process.
As stated by Sam Olumekun, National Commissioner and Chairman of the Information & Voter Education Committee, the number encompassed individuals who took part in both the online pre-registration process and the in-person registration.
According to the Commission’s analysis, women constitute the larger group, with 2,304,211 individuals (51.83%), compared to 2,141,294 men.
By Friday, 12th September 2025, the total number of individuals who have completed online pre-registration and in-person registration is 509,929, with 229,758 (45.06%) being male and 280,171 (54.94%) being female.
Regarding age and profession, 378,132 individuals (74.15%) are young people aged between 18 and 34, whereas 196,529 (38.54%) are students.
The statement also showed that during the online pre-registration process, which ran for four weeks, there were 4,445,505 participants, with women making up 2,304,211 and men 2,141,294.
The declaration stated that “the detailed breakdown of both online and completed registrations, categorized by state, gender, age, occupation, and disability, has been posted on our website and other official channels for public access.”
Speaking about the exercise in the Federal Capital Territory, Olumekun stated that the online voter pre-registration will conclude on Monday, with the physical (in-person) option available at designated locations over the next two weeks.
Following this, the Commission will transfer the registration to all 62 Wards in the FCT from September 29th to October 8th, 2025. The specific addresses of the centers have already been posted on our official websites.
