Kakao Healthcare and the Canadian healthcare platform company and startup accelerator ‘Providence Healthcare Ventures’ entered into a strategic business agreement at the ‘2025 Global Privacy Assembly (GPA)’ hosted at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Seoul on the 15th. The collaboration aims to develop an integrated healthcare solution through cooperation in privacy and AI technologies, with the goal of expanding into the global market. Shin Soo-yong, managing director of Kakao Healthcare, and Soyeon Kim from Providence Healthcare Ventures were present at the signing ceremony.
By working together, we will explore and create an integrated system that merges Kakao Healthcare’s healthcare data search platform ‘Hacorn’ and Healthcare Data Research Suite (HRS) with Providence Healthcare Ventures’ metadata management tool ‘IHID (Integrated Health Informatics Datalab)’.
The collaborative solution being created by the two companies will implement the ‘Eyes Off’ data strategy, which leverages Kakao Healthcare’s Privacy Enhancement Technologies (PETs) to train a distributed model without exchanging confidential details. Furthermore, the data enhances connectivity through the use of protocols that adhere to global standards and interoperability guidelines.
With a competitive integrated approach, the two companies aim to support global expansion and the growth of the healthcare ecosystem between the two nations. This solution is anticipated to serve as a mutually beneficial model, offering top-tier healthcare data services to global enterprises and startups in fields like life sciences and pharmaceutical biotechnology within both countries. Moreover, Kakao Healthcare is anticipated to act as a gateway for entering the North American market, including Canada, and to broaden its international collaborations.
“We are thrilled to collaborate with Kakao Healthcare, a top digital healthcare company. We aim to enhance Providence Healthcare Ventures’ platform strategy and position ourselves as a more reliable global partner in healthcare AI,” said Soyeon Kim, Director of Providence Healthcare Ventures.
Shin Soo-yong, the managing director of Kakao Healthcare, stated, “Through this partnership, we aim to enhance Kakao Healthcare’s healthcare data analysis solution to speed up its expansion into international markets, such as North America.”
