Tesla drivers are being reminded about the significance of utilizing the car’s specific wash mode, following a TikTok video that showcased this distinctive function.

On September 12, TikTok user@mardofindsemphasized a feature in a video that has received more than 32,600 views. “Quick PSA for all new Tesla owners,” he mentioned.

In the video, he cautioned that not activating Car Wash Mode prior to washing the vehicle might result in expensive harm. “I’ve seen way too many Tesla videos where owners have damaged their cars due to not being aware of this setting,” Mardo mentioned.

He mentioned that owners need to choose Car Wash Mode from the touchscreen interface to make sure the vehicle’s systems are securely engaged, avoiding water-related issues. He also pointed out that there is an additional setting to clean the touchscreen prior to starting the wash.

What Does the Car Wash Mode Feature Entail?

Upon activation, this feature closes all windows, secures the charging port, and turns off automatic windshield wipers, Sentry Mode, walk-away door locking, and parking sensor alerts.

It also enables drivers to put the vehicle into “Free Roll,” allowing it to glide through conveyor-belt car washes without the brakes activating.

Depending on the model year and software version, it is probable that owners of older Model S or X vehicles may not have access to this feature.
