The Korean Central News Agency stated on the 19th that “North Korean leader Kim Jong-un oversaw a trial of unmanned military equipment developed and manufactured by research institutions and companies within the Unmanned Aviation Technology Alliance on the 18th.”

The news organization reported that Kim Jong-un “clearly grasped, understood the performance and combat effectiveness of various unmanned military equipment, including strategic and tactical unmanned reconnaissance drones and multi-role unmanned aerial vehicles.”

The news organization reported, “The test carried out that day clearly highlighted the military-strategic significance and cutting-edge capabilities of the unmanned strategic reconnaissance drone, as well as the outstanding combat effectiveness of the Geumseong-series tactical unmanned attack drones,” and mentioned that Kim Jong-un expressed great satisfaction with the test outcomes.

Kim Jong-un remarked, “The growing presence of unmanned systems and their emergence as a key military asset in contemporary warfare highlights the importance of focusing on developing fundamental technologies in this area and improving AI and the operational capabilities of unmanned weapon systems as the top priority in our military modernization.”

Kim Jong-un also stated, “Prioritize efforts on swiftly promoting the newly implemented artificial intelligence technology.”

The news organization also stated that Kim Jong-un endorsed and approved a significant plan document outlining organizational and institutional steps aimed at enhancing and boosting the technical capabilities of the Unmanned Aviation Technology Alliance.
