KT servers were hacked.
KT announced on the 18th that it had alerted the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) at 11:57 p.m. about unusual signs of a cyber attack. The company said, “Following this year’s telecom breach, we hired an external cybersecurity company to examine all company servers over the course of about four months to precisely determine the extent of the damage. As a result, we found evidence of unauthorized access through the investigation report.” KT reported four cases of server breaches and two questionable situations to KISA.
KT stated, “We will completely support the government’s inquiry to quickly determine the affected servers and make every effort to explain the exact details and reasons for the breach as soon as possible.”
