Good morning. I am deeply honored to be here today to observe and lead the official inauguration of Cleanergy Solutions Namibia’s Hydrogen Dune Project in Walvis Bay, located in the Erongo region.

This moment marks a significant turning point in Namibia’s path toward a sustainable and thriving future. Today, we are not just initiating a project — we are expressing Namibia’s aspiration to take a prominent position in the worldwide shift toward clean energy, establishing Namibia as an important contributor in the production of green hydrogen and related products.

This initiative corresponds to the National Development Plan Six and the wider goals of Vision 2030. We seek to utilize Namibia’s renewable energy resources for economic advantage, ensuring equitable growth, sustainable industrialization, and societal improvement.

I praise the vision of Ohlthaver & List and CMB.Tech for their forward-thinking collaboration in bringing this project to life. Ohlthaver & List, being Namibia’s biggest privately held company, shows its dedication to the country’s growth, while CMB.Tech’s investment reflects global trust in Namibia as a leader in clean energy advancement.

I express deep appreciation to the government of the Federal Republic of Germany, the European Union, and other international allies for their consistent backing. This collaboration demonstrates that Namibia is involved in a worldwide alliance dedicated to creating a sustainable future.

I strongly feel that the Hydrogen Dune Project symbolizes hope, change, and strength. Namibians are gaining from education and skill-building, making sure our people are central to this shift. The employment opportunities provide respect, means of living, and chances for families and communities throughout the country.

The consequences will be extensive: enhancing education, boosting small enterprises, and aiding local sectors. Industrial development and environmental protection can complement one another, leading to an inclusive growth framework that ensures common wealth for every citizen of Namibia.

Namibia is entering a new chapter. Thanks to its rich solar and wind energy potential, favorable geographic position, and steady democratic governance, the country is ideally placed to emerge as a leading center for green hydrogen and ammonia manufacturing. The Hydrogen Dune Project makes a clear declaration: Namibia is influencing the worldwide energy dialogue.

Last week, Namibia organized the Global African Hydrogen Summit in Windhoek, highlighting its commitment to promoting green hydrogen growth for the country, the continent, and further afield.

Initiatives like the Hydrogen Dune highlight Namibia’s dedication to turning aspirations into practical efforts.

This initiative demonstrates that Africa is not solely a beneficiary of solutions but also a source of innovations tackling issues related to climate change, sustainability, and industrial development.

This transformation in energy is for every Namibian: young individuals pursuing professions in science, technology, and engineering; employees constructing these top-tier facilities; and households that will gain from a more sustainable and robust economy.

Let us face this opportunity with bravery and resolve, fostering a generation that dares to dream big, creates without hesitation, and is proud of constructing a Namibia that stands at the forefront of renewable energy.

I commend Cleanergy Solutions Namibia, Ohlthaver & List, CMB.Tech, the government of Germany, the European Union, and all global collaborators on this courageous collaboration.

As the head of state, I restate my government’s dedication to backing efforts that promote our green hydrogen strategy, generate employment opportunities, and ensure sustained economic growth. My administration is focused on enhancing the business environment to guarantee that such large-scale projects achieve success and lead to further developments.

This swearing-in signifies the start of a new phase in Namibia’s industrial and growth-oriented transformation. As one, we are establishing the groundwork for an economy that is strong, accessible, and environmentally responsible.

Let us journey together with unity, confidence, and resolve, demonstrating to the global community that Namibia is not merely prepared for transformation — we are at the forefront of it.
