Sri Lanka, September 23 — The Sri Lankan Cabinet has given its approval for the creation of a ‘Government Super App,’ a unified digital platform enabling citizens to access various government services via an easy-to-use mobile and web application.
Suggested by the President, the project will be carried out in two stages with an overall expense of Rs. 500 million between 2025 and 2026. The effort seeks to tackle the existing issues of disjointed service provision, which involve several verification steps, redundant data input, and separate systems within various government agencies, leading to considerable hassle for the public.
In line with Sri Lanka’s Digital Economy Strategy, the Government Super App will combine services from various departments, allowing 14 million citizens aged 18 and above and 2 million yearly visitors to conveniently access government services via one platform.
