Renowned gospel artists will gather at the Zimbabwe Grounds in Highfields for the Love Zimbabwe Festival, taking place from September 26 to 28.
The three-day event is set to include Nigeria’s Adah Ehi along with local artists like Michael Mahendere, Janet Manyowa, and Takesure Zamar Ncube.
The Love Zimbabwe Festival was created by American clergy members Andrew and Wendy Palau, who are working together with the Zimbabwe Council of Churches, the Evangelical Fellowship of Zimbabwe, and the Zimbabwe Catholic Bishops’ Conference.
The event will be held for the first time in Zimbabwe following its previous occurrences in Zambia and Kenya.
ZCC General Secretary Wilfred Dimingu stated that the event seeks to unite Zimbabweans from various religious backgrounds.
“Come and see God’s work unfolding during this festival. This is a chance for us, as Zimbabweans, to unite irrespective of our religious groups,” said Dimingu.
Event organizers have hosted a wide range of activities leading up to the three-day festival. Support has been provided to disadvantaged groups in terms of obtaining glasses.
Initiatives aimed at combating drug and substance abuse have taken place in regions including Chitungwiza, Mbare, and Glen View.
Palau mentioned that he is anticipating a successful launch for the festival in Zimbabwe.
“It’s a privilege and a long-held dream that is now becoming a reality, working with you and all the churches to exalt the name of Jesus. By collaborating, we can extend our reach to every individual in the community, right at the center of the city,” said Palau.
