A new rookie idol group named CORTIS has made it to the U.S. Billboard’s main album chart, the Billboard 200, with their first album.

As reported by Billboard on the 23rd, CORTIS’s debut album titled “COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES,” which came out on the 8th, secured the 15th position on the Billboard 200.

This marks the second highest position achieved by a K-pop group’s debut album on the “Billboard 200.” The top spot for a K-pop idol group’s debut album on this chart was held by SM Entertainment’s Super M, which reached number one with its self-titled album in 2019.

CORTIS is the sole K-pop group to make it onto this chart among those who debuted this year. Moreover, it is the only K-pop male group to achieve a position within the top 20 of the Billboard 200 since 2021. Earlier, the highest achievement was set by the project group ZeroBaseOne (ZB1) with its first full album at 23rd position.

CORTIS secured third position in the Top Album Sales chart, third in the Top Current Album Sales, and second in the World Albums category. Furthermore, its introductory track “GO!” made an appearance on Billboard’s Global 200 chart at the 180th spot.

Meanwhile, CORTIS is the new group introduced by HYBE’s Big Hit Music, six years after the emergence of Tomorrow X Together (TXT). Big Hit Music is also home to BTS.
