Paul Okoye AKA Rudeboy, who is part of the well-known pairP-Square, has threatened to take legal action following a claim from an X user that he sexually assaulted his former domestic worker.

The digital dispute started duringOkoye’s wife, Ifeomahis 25th birthday party on September 23, 2025. Following celebratory posts depicting the couple together and the gifts he gave her, an alternative discussion emerged online.

The Allegation

Some users on X (formerly known as Twitter) claimed that Paul Okoye was not loyal to his spouse.

“Didn’t he also betray his wife with her maid?” One user remarked.

“Raped or forced their domestic worker. She’s the help, so how could she refuse? Also, she was probably much younger. When he found out, he sent his wife and sister-in-law out of the house at that time. Very typical, arrogant guy,” replied another user in a comment that immediately caught attention for its serious allegations.

Paul Okoye’s promise to locate and penalize the person who accused him

Rudeboyis not treating the accusation with indifference. He has vowed to locate the X user at any price and have her justify the serious claims she made against him.

I rarely respond, but you see this one @chubbydiva, if you’re interested, go private, leave X, I will find you, I will employ all required methods, power, resources, and funds. You will encounter legal consequences, and I will use you as an example (scapegoat). Your only option is to leave the surface of this earth and move to space. To everyone who directed my attention to her tweets, thank you.

Soon after Rudeboy’s reply, the user known as @Chubbydiva deleted her social media profiles, yet this may not prevent her from facing Rudeboy’s fury.

The Distinction Between Views and Defamation

In today’s era of social media, it is important to recognize the delicate boundary between personal views and harmful remarks.

A viewpoint is a personal expression that showcases individual perspectives, ideas, or emotions.

It is naturally subjective and does not assert to provide factual data. Typically, opinions are safeguarded by freedom of speech regulations, as they reflect personal perspectives rather than absolute facts.

Section 39 of the Nigerian Constitution ensures the right to freedom of speech. It says, “Each individual is entitled to freedom of expression, which includes the right to hold opinions and to receive and share ideas and information without any obstruction.”

However, in contrast to common perception,a viewpoint may be defamatoryif it entails creating a false claim that harms the standing of an individual in the perception of reasonable people.

The matter of defamation hidden behind the guise of opinion is a significant concern in Nigeria, where celebrities, includingBurna Boy, Eniola Badmus, and more recently, Dayo Amusa, have pursued legal action against people who made harmful remarks about them.
