Dhaka, September 27 — The new film of Power Star Pawan Kalyan, titled They Call Him OG, has made a significant impact at the box office, surpassing the Rs 100 crore milestone within two days, even though there was a notable decline in earnings following its impressive opening day.
Directed by Sujeeth, the intense gangster film launched on September 25 with an estimated revenue of Rs 90 crore in India on its first day, including Rs 25 crore from early screenings. This impressive debut positioned it as the top opening of 2025 to date, outperforming superstar Rajinikanth’s Coolie and securing the seventh-largest opening for a Telugu movie and the eighth for an Indian film within the country.
Nevertheless, collections fell sharply on the second day. As per industry tracker Sacnilk, the movie made Rs 19.6 crore nett on Friday – a decline of 69.25 percent – resulting in an India total of Rs 104.35 crore nett within two days.
On the international scene, They Call Him OG grabbed attention by earning an impressive Rs 144 crore globally on its opening day, surpassing Prabhas’ Saaho. The overseas audience contributed Rs 42.5 crore, enabling the movie to exceed the openings of Jr NTR’s Devara and Thalapathy Vijay’s Leo, which both started with approximately Rs 142 crore worldwide.
The movie stars Pawan Kalyan as Ojas Gambheera, a harsh gang leader determined to regain his power and take revenge on his opponent Omi Bhau, portrayed by Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi in his first Telugu film. The ensemble cast also features Priyanka Mohan, Prakash Raj, Arjun Das, Sriya Reddy, and Shaam, with Jackie Shroff appearing briefly in a guest role.
