Kadjebi (O/R), Oct. 3, GNA – Mr. Richard Mfo, a Biology instructor at Okadjakrom Senior High Technical School (SHTS) located in the Oti Region, has been prohibited from teaching after being accused of inappropriate behavior with a female student.
The event is said to have taken place in the school’s science lab during the recently concluded West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), with a video of the incident now spreading rapidly across social media platforms.
A source from the school, who spoke with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) while remaining anonymous, stated that certain students, who thought there was an improper connection between the teacher and the student, secretly placed a camera by the lab window and recorded the incident in question.
The pupils who participated in capturing the video were later recognized, taken into custody, and punished by the school administration.
Nevertheless, as per the source, the students, unhappy with the disciplinary action taken against them, made the video available to the general public.
The female student involved in the incident has now shown regret and asked the public to stop distributing the video, stating it has harmed her reputation and emotional health.
In the meantime, Mr Mfo’s restriction is intended to facilitate an independent inquiry into the situation, as the Ghana Education Service and other pertinent authorities proceed to handle the matter.
GNA will continue with the inquiry and share progress as it develops.
