Tanzanian parents are being advised against discouraging their children from seeking higher education overseas, as this helps young individuals gain contemporary skills and get ready to vie for positions in the international job market.

The call took place in Dar es Salaam, initiated by Akili Education Ambassador, Maulid Kitenge, who highlighted that global education expands students’ viewpoints and fosters self-assurance to excel in different fields.

“The issue our country is dealing with is the scarcity of science and technology experts. In the current global landscape, numerous international job advertisements demand expertise in fields like cyber security, artificial intelligence, and other scientific areas. Many Tanzanians are unable to access these chances due to insufficient qualifications,” Kitenge stated.

From his side, Felician Chizelema, CEO of Akili Education, stated that the organization has been assisting parents and students by offering trustworthy details about esteemed international universities and academic courses that offer enhanced career prospects in the global job market.

He mentioned that up to now, they have helped five students gain entry into universities in India, assisting them with the registration procedure, travel arrangements, and orientation once they arrived on campus.

Chizelema mentioned that the main objective of investing in education is to offer answers for Tanzanian young people, who frequently face challenges in determining the appropriate courses and how to get ready for their future professions.

“We are eager to witness our youth participating on a global scale. International education provides them with a wider viewpoint, up-to-date skills, and cultural exposures that enhance innovation and employability,” he stated.

He also encouraged parents and caregivers to start investing in their children’s education early, highlighting that these actions are essential in creating a country filled with creative experts who can succeed in the fast-changing global market.
