The Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) has stated that the initial supermoon of the season will be observable throughout the nation on the evening of October 7.
As per SUPARCO, the supermoon will emerge from the eastern horizon at 8:47 PM and disappear in the western direction, looking 6.6% bigger and 13% more luminous compared to a typical full moon.
The committee also mentioned that the planet Saturn will be visible close to the supermoon, located to its left on October 6 and 7.
This signifies the start of a sequence of supermoons predicted for this year, with the following ones set for November 5 and December 5. The most luminous supermoon of 2025 is expected in November, when the Moon will be as near as 357,344 kilometers (221,817 miles) from Earth.
People in Pakistan who enjoy observing the sky are preparing for a rare astronomical occurrence, marking the beginning of an exceptional period for those who love stargazing.
