Union Bank of Nigeria has launched a health walk called ‘Stay Recharged’ to highlight its dedication to employee wellness and long-term workplace growth.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the bank mentioned that the walk, a 7.5km journey across Lagos’ streets, began at its Stallion Plaza Headquarters in Marina and ended at the Bank’s Sports Complex, The Stable, located on Bode Thomas Street, Surulere.

As per the bank, the Stay Recharged health walk is based on a key element of Union Bank’s employee value proposition: employee wellness, carefully designed to promote a culture where health, happiness, and productivity thrive.

The program directly addresses the critical demand for meaningful wellness initiatives that support both physical and mental well-being in the workplace.

Staff members from various departments and locations took part in the wellness walk.

Head of Talent, Omayuli Wale-Ajayi, highlighted the importance of this significant event, stating, “At Union Bank, well-being is not an optional addition; it is integral to our work processes. Our first Stay Recharged Health Walk demonstrates our dedication to creating a culture where our employees are motivated, assisted, and flourishing. When we look after ourselves, we create more robust teams and stronger organizations.”

The stroll corresponds to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being and SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth.

“By funding these wellness initiatives, Union Bank not only enhances its internal community but also solidifies its image as a preferred employer. Union Bank continues to focus on creating new, health-oriented programs that encourage employees to embrace healthier habits, promoting sustained growth for both individuals and the company,” the bank concluded.
