, October 8 — UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer revealed that Yash Raj Films, a prominent Bollywood production company, will film three significant movies throughout the United Kingdom beginning in early 2026, after his visit to the studio in Mumbai on Wednesday.

The deal is anticipated to generate more than 3,000 jobs and inject millions of pounds into the UK economy, Starmer stated. “Bollywood is returning to Britain, offering jobs, investment, and opportunities, while presenting the UK as a top-tier location for international film production,” he remarked, emphasizing the advantages of the UK-India trade agreement.

Yash Raj Films’ CEO Akshaye Widhani highlighted the long-standing relationship between the studio and the United Kingdom, referencing classic movies such as Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, which were filmed in the nation. He further mentioned that the company is also working on a UK-based stage version of DDLJ, called Come Fall in Love.

The statement follows an eight-year break in Yash Raj Films’ UK movie projects. A partnership agreement between the British Film Institute (BFI) and India’s National Film Development Commission (NFDC) will aid joint productions and resource sharing among filmmakers from both nations.
