Three straight victories following an initial defeat. The momentum of last year’s champion is making a comeback.

Changwon LG won against Suwon KT 69–53 in their home game during the 2025–2026 professional basketball season on the 12th. Yoo Gi-sang scored 17 points, making 5 out of 10 three-pointers. Aseem Marey added 17 points along with 23 rebounds (6 offensive rebounds). He accounted for over half of the team’s total 41 rebounds. Carl Tamayo, an Asian-quota player, provided 14 points.

LG came in second place during the regular season last year and beat Seoul SK, the team that won the regular league, with a score of 4–3 in the championship series, securing their first-ever championship.

On the third day of the previous month, LG faced a defeat against SK in a prolonged overtime match during the official season’s opening game at their venue, but has since secured three consecutive victories.

With the new coach Moon Kyung-eun at the helm, KT now holds a 3–2 win-loss record. KT faced difficulties against LG’s solid defense. They took 23 three-point shots but converted just 2. Their overall success rate for both two-point and three-point field goals was low at 24%. They managed to maintain some dignity through free throws, making 17 out of 20. Only Kim Sun-hyung (11 points) and Joel Kagalangaan (11 points) reached double digits in scoring.

Goyang Sono beat Daegu Korea Gas Corporation 86–80 during a road match, moving their record to 2–3. Nathan Knight (23 points, 10 rebounds), Lee Jung-hyun (20 points, 6 rebounds), and Kevin Kempao (20 points, 11 rebounds) contributed a total of 63 points. The group’s 27 rebounds equaled the total number of rebounds by Korea Gas Corporation.

The Korea Gas Corporation, featuring naturalized player Ra Gun-ah (25 points, 9 rebounds) and Asian-quota player Sam Joseph Belangel (22 points), experienced its fourth straight loss to begin the season and continues to be at the bottom of the rankings. They conceded numerous points from the free-throw line. They allowed 28 free throws to Sono, leading to 23 points.

Mattiang’s bowl from the Korea Gas Corporation, who has been dealing with an ankle injury, played just 9 minutes and scored 3 points. The team’s main foreign player has averaged 8.3 points (5.5 rebounds) over four games, falling short of expectations.
