Kashiwa Reysol and Sanfrecce Hiroshima will face each other in the J-League Cup final at Tokyo’s National Stadium on November 1, following their progression from the two-leg semifinals on Sunday.
Coming from a 3-1 disadvantage after the first leg, Kashiwa achieved a 5-4 overall victory over Kawasaki Frontale, who were visiting, as Mao Hosoya scored two goals in stoppage time to secure a 4-1 win at Sankyo Frontier Stadium.
At Edion Peace Wing Hiroshima, Sanfrecce defeated Yokohama FC 2-1, securing a 4-1 overall victory.
Kashiwa is targeting their first J-League Cup victory since 2013, whereas Hiroshima won the title most recently in 2022.
