Super Formula had to cancel the second race on Sunday at Fuji Speedway due to thick fog.

The choice was made to cancel the 10th race of the season around 3:35pm local time due to poor visibility, as the situation at the Toyota-owned track deteriorated shortly before the practice laps were scheduled to begin.

It involves a Saturday event that was halted because of rain, with no green flag laps occurring.

JRP President Yoshihisa Ueno mentioned during a press briefing following the race’s cancellation that the series is evaluating if an alternative event might take place at either Fuji or Suzuka, locations where the concluding double-header was scheduled for November 22-23.

Qualification proceeded as usual in the morning on a primarily dry track, though there were a few wet patches remaining, asTadasuke Makinosecured his second pole position of the season.

Dandelion RacingDriver Makino, who had set the fastest time in dry conditions during Friday’s practice, came out on top.Nakajima Racing’s Igor Fragato the number one position by a margin of 0.076 seconds.

Kakunoshin Ohtathird qualified in the second Dandelion car, earning a single bonus point that placed him tied in points withAyumu Iwasa, and ahead on countback due to his three victories this season compared to the TeamMugen driver’s one.

Championship leader Sho TsuboiTOM’S finished in seventh place, but still holds a 14.5-point lead over Ohta and Iwasa.

Makino earns three extra points for the pole position, leaving him with a 23.5-point gap behind Tsuboi.

Tomoki Nojiri(Mugen), who secured fourth position and earned no bonus points, remains the sole driver mathematically eligible for the championship title if an additional race is not conducted.

Saturday race winner Sacha Fenestraz(TOM’S) was scheduled to start from the 18th position after a lock-up at Turn 1 – potentially caused by an off-track incident on the previous lap – resulting in him being knocked out in his Q1 group with the ninth-fastest time.

Zak O’Sullivan, on the other hand, would have begun from the rear due to a problem with hisKondo Racingdevice that stopped him from exiting the garage in Q1.
