Sirajganj, October 14 – Abul Kalam Biswas, 50, who served as Naib-e-Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami in Raiganj upazila, Sirajganj, died in a motorcycle accident on Monday evening.
The incident took place approximately at 8 pm on the Dhaka-Bogura highway close to Chonka Bazar in Sherpur upazila, Bogura, while Biswas was heading home by himself following a Jamaat educational session in Bogra.
It is said that he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into the median barrier.
Local inhabitants saved him and took him to Bogura’s Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital, but he passed away during the journey.

Biswas also served as the head of the Raiganj Press Club and lived in Simla Biswaspara village in Raiganj.
Confirming the event, Inspector Md. Azizul Islam, in charge of the Sherpur Highway Police Camp, stated, “The body was found at the location and given to the family since there were no reports. A case has been registered at the relevant police station.”
