Pakistan, October 14 — Ali Pervez Malik, the Federal Minister for Petroleum, made a notable trip to Russia, attending the 14th St. Petersburg International Gas Forum 2025 (SPIGF) and engaging in top-level discussions aimed at enhancing bilateral collaboration in the oil, gas, and mineral industries.
Minister Malik headed the Pakistani team at the renowned event, an international meeting of energy executives. In a senior-level panel discussion, titled “Gas Market 2025-2035: New Trends in a Rapidly Changing Landscape”
Pakistan showcased its detailed energy sector reforms to an international audience, emphasizing the business-friendly measures introduced during the tenure of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif. Demonstrating a strong dedication to improved cooperation, Pakistan and Russia agreed to deepen their collaboration in critical energy areas. Several strategic discussions took place during the event to further this goal.
In a critical meeting, Minister Malik engaged with Mr. Alexey Miller, the head of the Russian energy corporation Gazprom. The talks proved very fruitful, with both parties committing to strengthen collaboration between Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) and Gazprom.
The Minister also met with high-ranking officials from Rusgeo, the Russian Geological Survey Company, and the AI energy firm Nedra Digital. These discussions centered on identifying practical opportunities for Russian investment in Pakistan’s mineral and energy resources.
Federal Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik had a successful discussion with H.E. Alparslan Bayraktar, the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources from Turkey.
In the future, Minister Malik officially extended an invitation to international investors to join the next Pakistan Minerals Investment Forum, highlighting Pakistan’s dedication to establishing itself as a top choice for global investment in its natural resources.
