, October 14 — Actor Kartik Aaryan experienced a heartfelt moment while receiving his first Filmfare Best Actor Award, which was made more meaningful by the presence of his parents in the crowd.
Emotionally touched, the star of Dhamaka posted an Instagram video from the evening accompanied by a sincere message. He wrote, “This feels different when you recall where you began that night. All the emotions I’ve ever experienced found their expression. From the boy from a small town who only dreamed of this stage, to the man experiencing it – thank you, universe. I didn’t just speak that night, I felt every word. This speech wasn’t rehearsed. It was spontaneous.”
During his acceptance speech, Kartik conveyed surprise and heartfelt appreciation. “There are times in life when you question if it’s all true—and this is one of those evenings,” he remarked. When discussing *Chandu Champion*, the movie that brought him this recognition, he commended director Kabir Khan and mentioned that the tale of Murlikant Petkar—India’s first Paralympic gold medalist—struck a deep chord with him.
“When people ceased to believe in Murlikant, he didn’t lose hope. That resonated deeply with me. It wasn’t merely a movie; it was the most significant experience of my professional life,” Kartik said.
He acknowledged Kabir Khan for his creative vision, stating, “You don’t merely make movies, you build entire universes.” He also expressed gratitude to producers Sajid Nadiadwala and Vardha Nadiadwala for their consistent support throughout the film’s production, which revived interest in Petkar’s story after almost half a century. Kartik also highlighted the meaningful timing—just after the movie’s launch, Petkar was honored with the Lifetime Arjuna Award.
The performer showed clear emotion while recognizing his parents, who were in attendance at the event. “As a child, I recall watching award ceremonies on television, wishing I could hold that prize. And now, it’s occurring right in front of them,” he shared.
Kartik also expressed gratitude to Filmfare, his supporters, and he shared his award with all those who dare to dream: “My spiritual guides are my fans. To everyone pursuing a dream – even when it feels like giving up – keep in mind, there’s a champion within you. A champion might stumble, but never ceases.”
Kartik Aaryan received the Filmfare Best Actor Award for his compelling portrayal in Chandu Champion, representing a significant achievement in his professional journey.
