Deputy Commissioner of Shaheed Benazirabad, Abdul Samad Nizamani, led a meeting about initiating anti-dengue fumigation and dog control initiatives at the Darbar Hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office. Speaking at the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner stated that with the shift in weather, there is a risk of dengue virus transmission through mosquitoes, and therefore, the Municipal Corporation and all Town Officers must conduct daily anti-mosquito fumigation in their respective areas as part of a coordinated approach.

Abdul Samad Nizamani emphasized that, in addition to the fumigation initiative, the dog elimination program should also be carried out efficiently to safeguard the public. The Deputy Commissioner directed local government officials to carry out both campaigns at the Union Council level and provide weekly updates to the DC office.

During the meeting, District Health Officer Dr Mudasir Hussain and In-charge of the Malaria Control Program, Dr Ashfaq Mashori, stated that no cases of dengue have been reported in the district up to now. They mentioned that the Health Department is making sure that fumigation medicines are provided to all Municipal and Town administrations. Health officials also updated the meeting participants on a public awareness campaign aimed at informing citizens about ways to prevent dengue. The meeting was attended by District Council Chairman Ali Akbar Jamali, Deputy Mayor Chaudhry Mubashir Arain, Additional Deputy Commissioner Syed Abrar Ali Shah, Town Chairmen, Municipal Commissioner, and all Town Officers.
