The facility includes the nation’s initial whole-body PET/CT system.
The National University Hospital (NUH)and the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine at the National University of Singapore have together established the Molecular Imaging and Theranostics Centre.
The facility includes Singapore’s initial whole-body positron emission tomography-computer tomography (PET/CT) system, launched in collaboration with Siemens Healthineers.
The PET/CT scanner, situated at the NUH Medical Centre, is set to begin functioning in early November and will cater to around 2,900 patients each year. Additionally, it will assist with various clinical trials and research initiatives.
In accordance with this, the center intends to promote theranostics, a discipline that combines diagnostic imaging with precise treatment.
