A magistrate court in Kuje, Abuja, has directed the detention of Nnamdi Kanu’s sibling, Prince Emmanuel Kanu; his attorney,Aloy Ejimakor, and 10 more individuals at Kuje prison.
Their detention came after their participation in the #FreeNnamdiKanuNow demonstration that took place on Monday in Abuja.
Nnamdi Kanu’s younger brother, KanutaKanu verified the progress in a message on X just after the court hearing on Tuesday.

Previous statements suggested that the Nigeria Police had presentedEjimakor, Prince Emmanuel Kanu, and ten others in relation to their involvement in the demonstration.
Court filings published on X by Prof. ChidiOdinkalu, former Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), revealed that the police had accused them of inciting unrest and violating a court order by disrupting public tranquility.
The papers further claimed that the defendant hindered free movement, caused traffic disruptions, and sang songs calling for Nnamdi Kanu’s release.
Head of Corporate Communications, BenjaminHundeyin, had previously informed Channels Television’s Politics Today thatEjimakor, Kanu’s brother, and others who were arrested during the demonstration will face court charges following an investigation.
The event occurs as there are renewed demands for the release of Nnamdi Kanu, the arrested head of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), whose extended imprisonment remains in the spotlight and has led to demonstrations in various areas of Nigeria.
