LAHORE, October 23 — Former leader Babar Azam has been included in Pakistan’s T20I team as the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) revealed the lineups for the upcoming limited-overs matches against South Africa, Sri Lanka, and Zimbabwe.
The National Selection Panel announced a 15-player team for the T20I matches against South Africa, set to take place in Rawalpindi and Lahore from October 28 to November 1. The same group will participate in the T20I tri-series with Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe, which is planned to run from November 17 to 29 at the same locations.
As per a PCB announcement, Abdul Samad, Babar Azam, and Naseem Shah have returned to the team following their absence from recent matches. Usman Tariq is the sole player without prior T20I experience in the squad.
A 16-player team has been confirmed for the ODI portion of the upcoming series against South Africa and Sri Lanka. Pakistan and South Africa, who are currently playing the second Test in Rawalpindi, will then face a three-match ODI series in Faisalabad from November 4 to 8. This will be followed by another three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka in Rawalpindi from November 11 to 15.
Faisal Akram, Haris Rauf, and Haseebullah are back in the ODI team, while Shaheen Shah Afridi will take charge of the 50-over squad.
