Sri Lanka, Oct. 23 — The 46th National Junior Championship for Under-21 Men’s Hockey, hosted by the Sri Lanka Hockey Federation, will start today at 8:00 a.m. at the Nandimithra Ekanayake Stadium in Matale.
This time, the competition will feature 10 teams, including Matale, Colombo, Badulla, Kandy, Wennappuwa, Sri Lanka Schools (Golds), Sri Lanka Schools (Maroon), Sri Lanka University, Trade Services, and Security Services. The tournament will commence with a match between the Trade Services Association and the Sri Lanka Schools Association team.
The initial stage will take place in a group-based format consisting of 4 teams, while the subsequent stage will follow a single-elimination structure. The most recent competition took place at the Colombo Shalika grounds, where the Colombo Association emerged as the champions. The second position was secured by the Trade Services Association, and the third place was awarded to the Matale Association.
