Nepalgunj, October 25 — A young man was fatally attacked by a tiger in Banke district on Friday morning.

The deceased has been recognized as Indra Bahadur Khatri from Guruwagaun Namuna Tol in ward 9 of Rapti Sonari Rural Municipality. As per the police, Khatri was gathering grass in the Rimna Community Forest when the incident took place.

When he failed to come home, the community initiated a search and eventually discovered his body in a highly damaged condition.

Birendra Bahadur Kandel, the head of conservation at Banke National Park, mentioned that steps are being taken to determine the tiger responsible for the incident.

Ongoing cases of tiger attacks have made people who live close to the national park worried about their well-being.
