A former Manchester United player, Gary Neville, thinks Arsenal are the top contenders to claim the Premier League championship this year.
Neville mentioned that Mikel Arteta’s squad doesn’t have to achieve 90 or 100 points to secure the title. In his view, the Arsenal team just needs to keep up with their present level of stability.
Arsenal currently lead the league by four points following their 1-0 victory against Crystal Palace on Sunday. They are seven points ahead of reigning champions Liverpool and six points above Manchester City.
“This must be them, right? This has to be their year,” Neville said during his podcast.
This is the fourth consecutive season that I have supported them to claim the league title. They aren’t significantly better than they were previously, but they are reliable — and that’s what counts this year.
They don’t require 100 points, or even 90, to secure the league title. A score in the mid-to-high 80s should suffice, and they are certainly capable of reaching that.
