Sri Lanka, Oct. 27 — The Under 19 Division One – Tier ‘A’ Inter Schools 2-Day Cricket Tournament 2025/26 will begin with 18 teams split into two groups, ‘A’ and ‘B’. Each team will compete in eight matches during the group stage. Only five traditional games are scheduled for this season. The top four teams from each group will advance to the quarterfinals, determined by the points table, considering only the eight tournament matches.

The Royal College in Colombo and St. Sebastian’s College in Moratuwa were co-champions in the previous season. Mahinda College from Galle and Thurstan College in Colombo were also co-champions in the under 19 Division One tier ‘B’ and were promoted to Division One tier A. Meanwhile, St. Benedict’s College in Kotahena and Maliyadeva College in Kurunegala were moved down to Division One tier ‘B’ from Division One tier A.

At least 5 tournament matches must be finished by December 31, 2026. The initial round is expected to conclude by January 31, 2026. The quarterfinals are scheduled for the first week of February, 2026. All standard matches will be completed by March 31, 2026.

Group A – Moratuwa St. Sebastian’s College, Colombo Thurstan College, Colombo Royal College, Galle Richmond College, Bambalapitiya St. Peter’s College, Colombo D.S. Senanayake College, Kandy St. Anthony’s College, Kelaniya Gurukula College, Colombo Nalanda College

Group B – Trinity College Kandy, Mahinda College Galle, St. Joseph’s College Colombo, St. Servatius College Matara, S. Thomas’ College Mt. Lavinia, Lumbini College Colombo, Mahanama College Colombo, Maris Stella College Negombo, Prince of Wales College Moratuwa.
