An indigenous technology company, AbaaTech Solutions Limited, has introduced Abaaly, a versatile mobile application that combines social networking, online shopping, and digital transactions into one platform, representing a significant move for Nigeria’s involvement in the global super-app market.
Released on Tuesday in Lagos, Power Aden, the founder and CEO, stated that the innovation supports President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and the National Digital Economy Policy, which emphasize inclusion, innovation, and digital empowerment as key factors in national progress.
“We created Abaaly by Nigerians, for the global community. Our goal is to make digital life easier by combining communication, commerce, and finance in one platform, ensuring access for all, whether it’s a student in Ilorin or a trader in Aba,” Aden mentioned during the launch.
Built to integrate communication, buying, and transactions, Abaaly has three core components: Abaaly Chat, Abaaly Market, and Abaaly Wallet.
The chat function allows for quick, safe communication through voice and video calls, while the marketplace links small businesses, artists, and brands directly to customers. The wallet facilitates money transfers, bill payments, and in-app purchases, providing users with a smooth experience without needing to switch between different apps.
To foster inclusivity, the app offers support for Nigeria’s main languages—Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo, and Pidgin English—enabling users to communicate, shop, and conduct transactions in their native tongue. The design is compact and efficient, suitable for both high-end smartphones and basic devices, an important factor in Nigeria’s budget-conscious mobile environment.
Around the world, the super-app concept, popularized by WeChat, Alipay, and Grab, has changed digital interactions in Asia. Nevertheless, no African platform has reached the same level of integration. Mr. Aden stated that Abaaly was created to fill this gap.
“We examined how disjointed our digital experience has become. You communicate via one app, make purchases through another, and handle payments using a third. Abaaly addresses this by integrating them into one secure environment,” he explained.
Created over a period of four years by Nigerian engineers and developers, the platform utilizes full encryption, cloud-based design, and AI-powered security measures to guarantee data safety and confidentiality.
The Chief Operating Officer, Dr Ola Raheem, referred to Abaaly as a fully Nigerian technological innovation with worldwide prospects, forecasting that it could generate as many as 10,000 job opportunities for young professionals.
“The application represents a significant step in innovation and could serve as an exportable product for Nigeria. We are striving to ensure that content creators on Abaaly receive payments in US dollars,” Dr. Raheem stated.
The head of AbaaTech’s Atlanta, Georgia branch, Dr. Kazeem Bello, mentioned that the application has captured the interest of global stakeholders, including Atlanta’s Mayor, Andre Dickens, who praised the innovation.
“Abaaly demonstrates that nothing accomplished in Silicon Valley, Canada, or India is beyond the reach of young, tech-savvy Nigerians. There is no application anywhere in the world that can rival Abaaly’s abilities,” Bello stated.
In addition to technology, the company views Abaaly as a movement aimed at encouraging Nigerians to share local narratives, honor cultural identity, and develop indigenous solutions.
Aden encouraged creators, business owners, and visionaries to leverage the platform as a venue for online commerce and patriotic expression.
“By encouraging dialogue, business ventures, and artistic creation, Abaaly aids the president’s vision of establishing a varied, citizen-focused economy,” he further stated.
Established in 2021, AbaaTech Solutions has grown from a small business to a significant force in Nigeria’s digital advancement scene. By introducing Abaaly, the company seeks to make technology more approachable, available, and inspiring for people from all backgrounds in Nigeria.
AbaaTech stated that Abaaly will keep advancing, incorporating additional services that link people, companies, and organizations within a single digital platform aimed at achieving both national significance and international importance.
