A member of Hezbollah’s political council, Mahmoud Qmati, stated that the “equation” Israel is attempting to enforce on Lebanon will not persist and “will be altered.”
“In the context of Lebanon, the state, diplomatic relations, the Lebanese army, and the resistance, we will not let this situation remain above us, nor will we allow this aggression against our land to continue. The state must honor its promises and responsibilities, as it has stated that it will free the land and the prisoners, stop violations, and start reconstruction,” Qmati added.
“Why are they urging Lebanon to engage in talks with the Israeli adversary when there is already a valid agreement in place, and Israel has not adhered to any of its provisions for nearly a year,” questioned a Hezbollah representative.
He therefore urged the nations backing the agreement to “pressure the adversary to enforce it, after which we would address all issues internally and at the Lebanese level, in collaboration with all officials and the three presidents, both now and in the future.”
“As we hold onto our arms, we reach out for domestic collaboration and mutual understanding with all the country’s factions and our local allies,” Qmati added.
“We possess only resilience, holding onto the resistance and support, and working closely with Lebanese groups to the maximum degree in order to safeguard our nation, and we have absolutely no other options,” the Hezbollah representative continued.
He stated that the events in Gaza and the broader region served as “a lesson that without resistance, peoples are destroyed and nations are disgraced.”
“We have no alternative but to hold on to the resistance, even if it results in the sacrifice of everyone,” Qmati added.
