The Chairman of the House of Representatives, Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, is currently heading a senior delegation from the House to the 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE), which is set to take place in Shanghai on Wednesday, November 5th, 2025.

The Chinese Embassy in Nigeria has invited the Speaker to participate in the 8th China International Import Expo.

Accepting the invitation, Speaker Tajudeen thanked the Government and people of China for their ongoing friendship and strategic cooperation, which keeps enhancing the bilateral ties between the two nations.

The group, which has already reached China, will attend the opening event of the 8th China International Import Expo, during which Speaker Tajudeen will present a five-minute friendly message.

Afterward, the Speaker will conduct a bilateral meeting with the Premier of the People’s Republic of China, His Excellency Li Qiang, during which Speaker Abbas is anticipated to emphasize important areas of partnership between Nigeria and China, such as parliamentary collaboration.

Speaker Tajudeen will also head the delegation for various activities, including taking part in the China–Africa Economic and Cultural Forum, meeting with the Governor and Party Secretary of Zhejiang Province in Hangzhou on November 6th, and visiting the main offices of major Chinese companies.

The delegation includes the House Leader, Hon. Julius Ihonvbere; Deputy Minority Whip, Hon. George Ozodinobi; Hon. Auwalu Gwalabe; Hon. Muktar Umar; Hon. Babajimi Benson; Hon. Bello Isa Ambarura; Hon. Jaafar Yakubu; and Hon. Ahmed Safana.

Other members include the Chief of Staff to the Speaker, Professor Jake Dan-Azumi; Special Assistant to the Speaker for Inter-Parliamentary Affairs, Barrister Chimdi Neliaku; and Chief Protocol Officer to the Speaker, Musa Hussein.
