Famous Kenyan tailor Bolo Bespoke has sparked controversy by disclosing the cost of one of his high-end suits.

Similar to the Bahatis, Bolo and his wife, Mueni, have mastered the skill of encouraging Kenyans to discuss them.

Lately, he caused a stir by attending the funeral of Raila Odinga and arriving at the gravesite, where he commemorated the somber event by posting a picture with President William Ruto.

During the ceremony, Ruto and Bolo took part in the symbolic gesture of placing soil over Raila’s tomb.

Later, Bolo spoke to the media regarding his presence near the president, asserting that he is the new Luo leader. His statements generated varied responses on social media, with some Kenyans labeling them as seeking publicity.

On Tuesday, November 4, Bolo shared an image of himself dressed in a stylish suit, which led Kenyans to ask about its cost. He subsequently explained the price of the outfit, surprising many people.

He wrote:

Because of the public’s request, you mentioned the suit is stylish and you like how it fits. Here’s the update. No discount available today; purchase as others do.

Bolo listed the components of the outfit, such as socks priced at KSh 4,500, two ties valued at KSh 5,000, a perfume costing KSh 4,500, a walking stick worth KSh 7,000, shoes amounting to KSh 13,000, and a shirt priced at KSh 5,500. The suit alone was priced at KSh 228,000.

“Go ahead and place it as an individual order. Everyone is welcome,” he encouraged possible customers.

Kenyan consumers were taken aback by the costs, with some acknowledging they didn’t fit the intended audience, while others responded with humorous remarks.
