Sri Lanka, November 7 – MAS Holdings was recognized as one of the top-acknowledged companies at the recently held Presidential Environmental Awards 2025, winning several awards within the clothing and fabric industry.

Hosted by the Central Environmental Authority (CEA) with the support of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, the awards recognize organizations from both the public and private sectors that have shown outstanding dedication to environmental protection and eco-friendly industrial methods.

MAS was one of the top-recognized organizations this year, with several business divisions honored for their excellence in environmental performance and adherence to regulations.

In the Textile and Textile Processing Industry category (Type A & B), MAS Active Linea Intimo was honored with the Gold Award, MAS Kreeda Vaanavil received Silver, and Silueta was given Bronze. In the Apparel Industry category (Type A & B), MAS Kreeda Shadeline and MAS Intimates Thurulie were awarded Silver, MAS Active Contourline received Bronze, and MAS Kreeda Balangoda was presented with a Merit Award.

Assessments were conducted under the Central Environmental Authority’s Environmental Protection Licence (EPL) system, which categorizes industries based on their possible environmental effects. Industries categorized as Type A and B are considered to have a greater impact and thus face more rigorous compliance standards. The system is designed to ensure that major industrial sites function within established national environmental guidelines.

These accomplishments are strongly connected to the Group’s sustainability objectives detailed in its Plan for Change framework, which outlines specific targets to cut emissions, improve resource efficiency, and encourage circular production. MAS recently introduced the Plan for Change 2030, a new five-year strategy that continues from the success of earlier goals while establishing updated objectives within the areas of Product, Lives, and Planet.

Conducted every year, the Presidential Environmental Awards are considered one of the top honors in Sri Lanka for outstanding environmental achievements within both public and private organizations. For MAS, the 2025 awards mark another milestone in a sustained effort to integrate sustainability into the heart of its operations, highlighting the Group’s dedication to sustainable growth and the country’s progress.
