Gonzalez had little chance of overtaking Moreira for the Moto2 title at Valencia, as he entered the final race 24 points behind the Italtrans Kalex rider. The competitor would not only need to win the race but also rely on Moreira finishing outside the top 14 positions.

Gonzalez had the upper hand following the qualifying session, as the 23-year-old secured the fifth position on the starting grid. Just one row behind him, Moreira started in ninth place. Although his grid position was not strong, Moreira was aware that simply avoiding mistakes would likely be sufficient to clinch the championship.

Moreira did just that, staying well away from any risk as the group competed through the first two turns. He found himself in an early 10th position, then maintained most of the race in ninth before moving back to 11th by the finish.

At that point, he was already aware that Gonzalez had no possibility of achieving the win he required. TheIntact GPKalex remained in fifth and sixth positions for most of the race – near the front runners but unable to make a real push against them.

Gonzalez gave it his all, but seemed to have pushed the bike or tires beyond their limits as the race entered its final third. He quickly fell back through the rankings, with Moreira overtaking him as he slipped out of the top 10. He came into the pits in clear frustration with four laps remaining, but returned to finish in a disappointing 22nd position.

The victory went toIzan Guevara, who was in the lead throughout and endured a final-lap confrontation fromDaniel Holgado. Ivan Ortolafollowed the duo back to secure third position.
