Porsche Penske Motorsporthas revealed the six drivers who will compete for the team in the 2026 IMSA SportsCar Championship.
Laurens Vanthoor and Kevin Estrewill transition from Porsche’s previously discontinued World Endurance Championship program and come together in IMSA’s GTP class, driving the #6 Porsche 963 LMDh for the entire season.
The duo will be joined in the five enduros byMatt Campbell, who will take on a smaller position within the team following their victory in this year’s GTP title along withMathieu Jaminet.
Felipe Nasrwill continue to be at the wheel of the #7 Porsche but will now have a new team-mateJulien Andlauer, who competed for PPM as a factory driver in the WEC this season.
Laurin Heinrichhas been selected as the third driver for the #7 car following his debut LMDh appearance in this month’s WEC final in Bahrain, where he took the place of the team’s regular driverMichael Christensen.
It is still uncertain if Porsche will introduce a fourth driver in every car for the opening Daytona 24 Hours event in January.
Porsche’s departure from the Hypercar series after only three seasons has led to a reduction in its LMDh driver lineup.
Rather than having eight full-time drivers across both programs, it will feature only four drivers competing with the 963 for the entire season, along with two more drivers for the Michelin Endurance Cup.
Key omissions from Porsche’s 2026 lineup include Christensen andNick Tandy. The former made history at the start of this year by becoming the first driver to achieve the unofficial sextuple crown of endurance racing’s six major events – securing victory in the 24-hour Le Mans, Daytona, Nürburgring, and Spa-Francorchamps races, along with Petit Le Mans and the Sebring 12 Hours without any competition.
The newly crowned IMSA champion Jaminet is also leaving, as Genesis has already confirmed his move to their upcoming Hypercar project in 2026.
Porsche and Penske were the standout performers in the 2025 IMSA season, securing the driver’s, team’s, and manufacturer’s championships. The German brand also achieved a win in the WEC, although it finished the season in third place in the overall standings, following Ferrari and Toyota.
It failed to achieve a record-breaking 20th victory at the Le Mans 24 Hours as Estre, Vanthoor, and Campbell secured second place behind the winning #83 Ferrari.Robert Kubica, Phil Hanson and Yifei Ye.
