Actor Yoon Seok-hwa, who passed away on the 19th, will embark on her last journey through Seoul’s Daehakro, a location filled with her efforts, emotions, and commitment.

The Korea Theater Artists Welfare Foundation (Chairperson Gil Hae-yeon) stated on the 20th, “We intend to conduct a memorial ceremony at approximately 9:30 a.m. on the 21st in the courtyard of the former installation theater ‘Jeongmiso’ (now known as Hanart Theater) on Daehakro during the procession to the burial location,” and mentioned, “Colleagues and family members will come together to say goodbye to the late artist.”

The installation theater ‘Jeongmiso’ served as a venue where the late artist conducted experimental performances, managed a gallery, and functioned as the headquarters for the performing arts magazine *Auditorium*. It is closely linked to her artistic heritage and carries considerable importance in Korea’s performing arts scene.

The traditional ceremony will take place in a straightforward manner, honoring the family’s desire for a humble funeral. It will be attended by relatives and both senior and junior artists who had strong bonds with the late artist. Actor Gil Hae-yeon, the current president of the Korea Theater Artists Welfare Foundation, will deliver a eulogy. Moreover, young musical performers will jointly sing “In the Flower Field,” a song the late artist performed on stage and which was beloved by the audience, as a tribute and to say goodbye.

From 2017 until 2020, the late artist held the position of chairperson at the Korea Theater Artists Welfare Foundation, focusing on assisting theater artists with housing and medical expenses, as well as offering scholarship opportunities for their children. She regularly arranged charity concerts to support adoption agencies and help single mothers achieve self-sufficiency, aiming to repay the community for the love she received during her performances. The foundation organizes the ancestral rite to commemorate her legacy.

The funeral hall is currently located at Special Room 1, the funeral home of Severance Hospital in Sinchon. The departure ceremony is scheduled for 9 a.m. on the 21st. Before the departure, a farewell ceremony resembling a church service will be conducted at 8 a.m.
