The initial group of WhAP 8×8 armored vehicles produced at the recently opened TATA Advanced Systems Maroc (TASM) facility in Berrechid has been delivered to the Royal Moroccan Army, according to an announcement by TATA Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) on X.
“A significant achievement! Manufactured in Morocco,” TASL stated, accompanying a picture of the shipment.
La plant in Berrechid, which opened in September, was set up through an investment agreement finalized in 2024 by Morocco’s National Defense Administration, India’s Ministry of Defense, and TASL. The site focuses on manufacturing WhAP 8×8 armored combat vehicles for the Royal Armed Forces and promising international markets.
Initially, the TASM plant incorporates 35% locally produced parts, a figure anticipated to increase gradually to 50%, backed by continuous investment in training and the inclusion of domestic suppliers.
Featuring contemporary facilities, the Berrechid site is planned to function as a regional export hub for WhAP 8×8 vehicles, with a focus on African countries.
