Al-Dabba, 27 December 2025 (SUNA) – A delegation from the Arab Lawyers Union, led by Assistant Secretary-General Mohamed Murad, has initiated on-the-ground investigations into alleged violations and war crimes perpetrated by rebel groups against civilians throughout Sudan.
The group went to Al-Affadh camp in Al-Dabba, interacting with those affected and survivors, especially those impacted by crimes against humanity in Al-Fashir. Murad emphasized strong collaboration with the Sudanese Bar Association, which is aiding in precise record-keeping and establishing the mission’s key objectives.
He mentioned that special sessions took place at the camp, uncovering more breaches than initially anticipated, along with discussions on meeting the requirements of displaced individuals (IDPs). The team arrived in Port Sudan on 19 December, after the Arab Lawyers Union decided in November 2023 to examine militia offenses.
Murad mentioned that the team had already submitted its second report and is currently gathering field evidence along with witness statements to create an extensive database in collaboration with the Sudanese Bar Association.
