December 28, 2025 (KARNOI, North Darfur) – On Sunday, the UN International Organization for Migration (IOM) reported that over 7,000 individuals have left regions in western North Darfur, with thousands more still being forced to leave Dilling and Kadugli in South Kordofan.

On Saturday, the Sudan Doctors Network stated that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) killed 200 individuals, including women and children, in Ambara and Abu Gamra in North Darfur, as well as in Sirba in West Darfur, based on ethnic grounds.

In a statement, the IOM mentioned the “departure of 7,075 individuals from Ambara and the communities of Dronk, Salam Alaik, and Gali Bora in Karnoi because of increasing security concerns.”

The group mentioned that these people have been moved to areas within the Ambara and Karnoi regions, with conditions still being volatile and uncertain.

Starting from December 24, the RSF has carried out assaults on locations in Sirba and the towns of Ambara, Abu Gamra, and Karnoi, even though these regions are home to thousands of people who have been forced to leave their homes.

The forces are attempting to gain control over parts of western North Darfur to strengthen their hold on the area, as there are predictions of additional assaults in the near future on the remaining towns bordering Chad.

The IOM also reported that 3,100 people left Kadugli city because of safety concerns, moving to different places in Talodi, Abu Karshola, and Habila, as well as Sheikan in North Darfur and regions in the White Nile state. Moreover, 780 people were forced to relocate from Dilling due to increasing instability.

The humanitarian situation in Dilling and Kadugli has worsened considerably because of the extended blockade placed on residents by the RSF and the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N). This has resulted in a food crisis in Dilling, with Kadugli experiencing comparable severe circumstances.
