A young boy aged three and his mother lost their lives as Russian ballistic missiles obliterated an apartment building in eastern Ukraine.

The remains of the 22-year-old woman and her son were discovered among the debris following an attack on the apartment building inKharkiv.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyreferred to the incident as ‘heinous’ following the discovery of an additional 30 individuals, among them a six-month-old infant, who were injured.

“This is the way the Russians view life and people — they keep killing, regardless of the efforts made by the world, and particularly by the United States, in diplomatic discussions,” he posted on X.

RussiaThe defense ministry stated that the explosion resulted from Ukrainian munitions detonating, asserting that the reports aimed to divert focus from a New Year’s Eve attack on a hotel located in a Russian-controlled area of southern Kherson, Ukraine.

Videos from Kharkiv depicted smoke emerging from the debris as emergency workers and volunteers scoured the area for any remaining survivors.

It preceded a significant ‘coalition of the willing’ summit in Paris on Tuesday.

The gathering with 35 nations – such as Britain, Ukraine andFrance– will explore methods to prevent additional Russian advances into Europe.

Even though Donald Trump is not involved in the discussions, the United States remains the primary mediator in the peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine.

A group from the United States will participate in the meeting through a video connection.

Former President Trump expressed his dissatisfaction with the Russian leader yesterday, stating: “I’m not pleased with Putin. He’s responsible for too many deaths.”
