The Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson, Pham Thu Hang, expressed deep concern on Saturday about information concerning the current conditions in Venezuela.
Responding to reporters’ query regarding Vietnam’s stance on the situation in Venezuela, Hang stated that Vietnam urges all involved parties to uphold international law and the United Nations Charter, including the principles of respecting national sovereignty and avoiding the use or threat of force in international relations.
President Donald Trump announced on Saturday that U.S. troops had taken Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro into custody following a “major operation” in the South American nation.

Vietnam also urges the involved parties to show self-restraint, participate in dialogue, and settle conflicts and disagreements according to international law, thereby promoting peace, security, stability, and collaboration in the region and globally, she stated.
Given the complex and tense situation in Venezuela, which could present potential safety hazards for residents, the ministry recommended on Saturday that Vietnamese citizens carefully think about traveling to the country at this time.
Vietnamese nationals currently located in Venezuela are advised to depart from high-risk zones, stay updated on the situation, and fully adhere to local authorities’ travel rules as well as guidelines provided by the ministry, including those from the Consular Department and the embassy in Venezuela.
