On Thursday in Rabat, the Council of Ministers reviewed and approved nine draft decrees concerning the renewal of licenses issued to various companies for delivering satellite communication services.

The draft decrees were introduced by the Minister Delegate responsible for Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, as stated by Government Spokesperson and Minister Delegate in charge of Relations with Parliament Mustapha Baitas, who updated the media after the weekly Council session.

Among the approved documents was Draft Decree No. 2.25.902, which extends the permit given to Maroc Telecom to offer satellite communication services through VSAT technology in Morocco. Draft Decree No. 2.25.903 also renews the authorization provided to Wana Corporate for the same service.

The Council also approved Draft Decree No. 2.25.904, which extends the permit given to Green Development and Planning Company for offering satellite communication services through VSAT technology.

Furthermore, Draft Decree No. 2.25.905 extends the permit issued to Cires Telecom SA for setting up and managing a radio communication network that utilizes 3RP frequency-sharing technology. Draft Decree No. 2.25.906 provides an equivalent extension for Green Development and Planning Company for the same kind of network.

The officially approved documents also feature Draft Decree No. 2.25.907, which renews the permit given to Orbcomm Maghreb for setting up and managing a public satellite communication network utilizing GMPCS technology.

Decree Draft No. 2.25.908 extends the permit given to Thuraya Maghreb SA for the same objective, whereas Decree Draft No. 2.25.1106 deals with the renewal of the authorization provided to Al Hourria Telecom.

In conclusion, the Council endorsed Draft Decree No. 2.25.1107, which extends the permit given to Gulfsat Maghreb for setting up and managing a public satellite communication network utilizing VSAT technology.
