Approximately forty years back, I acquired a permit for a revolver. Throughout the Martial Law era, all permits were revoked; nevertheless, mine was an exception because I was employed in the government at that time. This permit was eventually digitized (Licence No. 10010004767101 / 3524552438 NPB). I have consistently paid the permit fee ever since, and recently settled a two-year charge of Rs 2,320 for the years 2024 and 2025.
Having been on a pension since 2009, I can no longer afford to pay the licence fee. I contacted the Rawalpindi district administration to have my antique desi arms licence removed, but without success. According to Rule 19 of the Arms Rules, I should be eligible for a free licence. I ask the Punjab government to cancel my arms licence right away and to make the process of returning weapons to the authorities easier.
