Max Verstappen has been awarded the 2025 Driver of the Year title, as decided by fan voting.

The Red Bull driver secured eight victories while competing against McLaren’s Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri for the title, coming within two points of victory despite a challenging beginning to the season with the RB21.

Verstappen’s triumph occurs on the night of the illustrious 38th editionAwardsin London at the Roundhouse on 21 January.

The prize, which has been in existence since 1982, is available to professional race drivers competing on a global scale. This marks the fifth straight year that Verstappen has received this honor.

Past winners have featured Formula 1 world champions such as Ayrton Senna, Michael Schumacher, Mika Hakkinen, and Sebastian Vettel, while the British drivers listed include Nigel Mansell, Damon Hill, Jenson Button, and Lewis Hamilton, who has the most victories with eight.

Additional categories determined through fan voting consist of Rookie of the Year, Moment of the Year sponsored by Bahrain International Circuit, Competition Car of the Year, Rally Driver of the Year, and British Competition Driver of the Year. Two new awards for 2025 are Team of the Year and Creator of the Year.

Additional honors, determined by panels of experts, consist of the Pioneering and Innovation Award, Promoter of the Year, and Brand Partnership of the Year.
