ENHYPEN member Sunghoon, who previously competed in figure skating, will act as a torch carrier for the Winter Olympics.
As reported by his agency Belift Lab on the 24th, Sunghoon will serve as a torchbearer for the 2026 Milan-Cortina d’Ampezzo Winter Olympics, set to begin next month on the 6th, local time. The specific location and timetable for the torch relay have not been revealed.
Prior to making his official debut, Sunghoon was a member of the reserve team for the national figure skating squad. From last year onwards, he has been acting as a promotional representative for the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee.
Sunghoon was chosen as a torch carrier due to a nomination from Samsung Electronics, a official sponsor of the Milan-Cortina d’Ampezzo Winter Olympics.
Through his agency, Sunghoon said, “I am fully aware of the enthusiasm and dedication of the national athletes who have put in a lot of effort for the Winter Olympics, so my biggest hope is to support them.” He also mentioned, “When I was an athlete, my dream was to take part in the Olympics, and I’m happy to have realized that dream as a singer.”
In the meantime, ENHYPEN, the group that includes Sunghoon, has recently returned with their seventh mini-album *‘THE SIN: VANISH’*.
